I work as a senior lecturer in the Department of Digital Culture (Degree Program of Cultural Production and Landscape Studies, University of Turku, Finland).

My research interests include:

  • The History of Home Computing in Finland
  • Cultural History of Internet
  • Media History
  • Game Studies.

My PhD-thesis The Lure of the Machine. The Personal Computer Interest in Finland from the 1970s to the mid-1990s was published by The Research Centre for Contemporary Culture (University of Jyväskylä, 2004).

Editor in Chief: WiderScreen (2013–) (JUFO-1) – a Finnish academic journal dealing with multimedial, digital, and audiovisual media culture
